Fine hotel, host very nice and warm welcome I was on the top floor which I would not like to get again, clean and tidy hotel, new towels every day, shower could do with some more pressure, other than that very pleasant stay.

Thank you for your lovely comments Alex. Next time i will make sure you are lower down where water pressure is good. Hope you had a good flight home.

This is the third time we've stayed at Citadel House, because it's comfortable. What you might call cheap and cheerful. And the location is perfect for the city centre and music venues. Next time we're in Plymouth we'll definitely stay again.

Good value for the money, clean and comfortable, only 2 negativesThe room had 2 doors blocked up to other bedrooms but you could hear the other people talking, and although it show's photos of the dining room I was told they don't do breakfast?

This is the second time we've stayed at Citadel House. The hotel is a well maintained, Victorian property of a graceful appearance, its spotlessly clean throughout and well decorated, CH offers accommodation with or without ensuite which is priced accordingly.Proprietor is easily contactable and even though we booked a month in advance remembered our requests for arrival and our stay, so great communication and very helpful.Citadel House is 5 min walk to Derrys Cross and 10 mins to Plymouth main high Street and the Theater. There are plenty of carparks within walking distance, on our most recent stay at CH we spoke with the proprietor who arranged an on street parking permit.Cost of stay is very reasonable.

Stayed at Citadel House for six nights and it was the perfect stay. Hotel owner was extremely helpful aa was the housekeep staff. My room was was spacious with lovely crisp bedding and the shower in the en-suite had fantastic water pressure with constant hot water, what more do you need.Citadel House is approximately 10 mins walk in to city centre and the same if you fancy a picturesque walk along the coastal path to the Barbican harbour.Like most guesthouse now the Citadel is room only but there are cafes and restaurants near by.There was plenty of street parking and again like most areas in Plymouth you need to pay or display a parking permit .when in Plymouth again I would stay here again .

Very enjoyable stay at the Citadel, and conveniently situated for the Hoe, Barbican, and city centre. The owner was very welcoming, and friendly. The rooms were clean, and spacious. The only downside was the shower which wasn't very warm or powerful, and the toilet door wasn't very secure(room 12), apart from that everything was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

We made a Late booking as a couple and even later asked if we could bring our grandchild. A prompt response to our email confirmed that we could but warned of the space limitations in the roomWe were only charged a nominal additional fee.The room was as described, compact but met our needs for our 4 night stay.We would stay here again for a short holiday for a similar chargebut would opt for more spacious accommodation if accompanied by a child.Great location for Plymouth Hoe and other attractions. We ate out so can't comment on the breakfast.Ample street parkingdiscounted via the hotel.Room may be uncomfortable if the weather is on the hot side. Some minor issues with the room/ bathroom, as per usual.Definitely worth checking out expecially against prices for similar accommodation.

We booked the hotel really last minute due to plans falling through and due to travelling down for a family funeral, we weren’t too bothered where we stayed. However, we were so pleasantly surprised, the woman who runs it was so accommodating and really tailored our check in etc… to meet our needs. The room was clean, comfortable and tidy and it had everything we needed for the reason we were staying. We didn’t spend too much time in the room, and weren’t there for the social element, but for those thinking of staying here for those reasons, it is certainly a good option. It is walking distance into town for shopping and bars etc… and is really good value for moment.

Citadel House is in a convenient location on Plymouth Hoe. The staff were very friendly and we happy to make us some bacon sandwiches as we were leaving too early for breakfast. It is well maintained, very clean and tidy, ideal for a short stay if you want to be near the Barbarian, city centre, and its not that far from the station, and don't like the big hotels.

The hotel/b&b was very ideal for the Plymouth Pavillions. Warm welcome and good rooms for what we paid. The only issue was that the water pressure in shower and hot tap was not great but since we were only staying for one night it wasn't a problem for us.

We stayed for two nights on a family visit. The room was clean and comfortable, although a bit on the small side and noisy from the occupants above us. It sounded like someone was jumping up and down on the floor boards. Obviously the rooms have been adapted to create en-suite facilities. These were extremely small and my six foot plus husband had a little trouble moving around. I would also suggest purchasing new towels. They were thin and rough. You could also hear all the flushing and bathroom usage from other rooms. It is February and the weather was lousy with rain and strong winds. The heating must have been on a timer. I was very cold during the night. The breakfast room was lovely and the food very good. Although I didn't enjoy hearing about another guest's bowel movements whilst I was eating! He was with a group of young ladies who met there both mornings of our stay.I would say that the B&B is very well run. Clean, comfortable and staff very pleasant and within easy walk of the Hoe and shops. For a couple of days it suited us very well.

Breakfast was also real nice with a good variety of options and the owner was there every morning to greet us. Would definitely recommend and stay again when in the area.

We had a lovely greeting as we checked in by the owner.Everywhere was lovely & clean, the staff were great. We stayed in room 10 and the bed by the window needs replacing. There could do with more choice of cereals...my daughter only came down once because of it. I found all the stairs a lot to cope with as I'm disabled but should have booked more in advance so's to get first floor accommodation. I enjoyed my stay & the lovely chats with the owner. Id stay again but book more in advance....lovely place.

We were greeted on arrival by the friendly owner who was very hospitable. The room we stayed in was spotless and the bed was very comfy. The full English breakfast was oustanding and the B&B's proximity to Plymouth Hoe and the Pavilions made it absolutely perfect for taking in the history of the city and enjoying the Stereophonics concert that night. Although every room was fully booked, we didn't hear a murmur from the other guests and the whole neighourhood was peaceful (even though it is only a 5 minute walk to the city centre) therefore we had a good night's sleep. The next time we are in Plymouth we will stay at Citadel House again; I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to you as it is extremely good value, clean and in a super location. See you soon Citadel House!

I was traveling with a friend and we enjoyed our stay at the Citadel House very much. The location is great (short walking distance to water front) and the service was very friendly. We also got a great dinner reservation. The room was nice, although it was a bit weird to have the shower in the bedroom. I suppose it doesn't matter when you're traveling with family, but otherwise, it might be a bit awkward.
